Local Organising Committee
Britain has been fundamental to the progression of dermatology as a specialism within medicine, and has a proud history of scientific exploration into this area of study.
Scottish dermatologists are proud to support Edinburgh to act as host city for the staging of the sixth International Investigative Dermatology Meeting in 2013, bringing together the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR), Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology (JSID) and Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) to present the latest information on cutaneous biology and skin diseases.
The University of Dundee has also given its support to the meeting. The University is internationally recognised for its expertise across a range of disciplines including science, medicine, engineering and art. Dundee has been especially highly ranked for biomedical research and for innovation in teaching medical, dental and nursing students. There has been a long tradition of outstanding dermatological research including photobiology, skin cancer and skin genetics.
On behalf of the local organising committee, I look forward to welcoming you to Edinburgh in 2013.
